RTFM Player supports a wide range of popular and audiophile-focused music formats, including lossless, compressed, high-resolution, and DSD libraries.

Supported formats include FLAC (.flac), MP3 (.mp3), WAV (.wav), AIFF (.aiff, .aif), AAC and ALAC/MPEG-4 audio (.m4a, .aac), Ogg Vorbis (.ogg), Opus (.opus, plus Opus content in .oga and .ogg containers), WMA/ASF (.wma, .asf), and DSD (.dsf, .dff).

For DSD collections, RTFM Player supports DSF, plain DFF/DSDIFF, and DST-compressed DFF files, with playback handled through high-quality DSD-to-PCM conversion. WMA and ASF playback is supported through RTFM Player's macOS FFmpeg-backed audio path. .wmv video files are not supported.

RTFM Player runs on Apple Silicon processors only and macOS 13 Ventura or later. It is built specifically as a native macOS music player for modern Mac desktops and laptops.
